Lost Wax Casting, Step 1: Design & Processing wax molds
To have absolutely precise stainless steel castings, we need to create accurate wax models. This is the first and extremely important step to create quality stainless steel castings.
Step 1: Create wax mold
If using wax molds, the first step is to design and manufacture metal molds from Aluminum. Graphic engineers will need to create 3D models for the detailed design. After the 3D design is available, aluminum molds will be created.

This mold is used to create a replica of the desired part by injecting molten wax under high pressure into the cavity. The mold can be made as a simple single cavity manual tool or a complex multi-cavity automatic tool depending on the volume and size requirements.

Step 2: Assemble the wax
Once the necessary wax details have been pressed, the wax patterns are assembled together. The wax patterns are assembled onto runners and form a complete tree, ready for dipping.

After the wax is grafted onto the tree, the wax mold needs to be cleaned. This process is very important to create the accuracy of the cast part.
